YOUNG  ADULT PROGRAMMING

Our young adult program is structured the same as our three-phase adult program.  Patient demographic is typically age 18-26 and living with parents or friends.  We require all patients in our young adult program to have family involvement in our IOP and they must sign  a full disclosure release to their parent(s)/Guardian.

In the words of our “kids”

“The young adult group consists of young adults who all share a safe space which allows them to open up to those with similar ages and experiences.  In today’s world, it is very rare for young adults feel like they have others who understand them.  There is a drastic difference between adults and young adults, the lack of judgement and sense of camaraderie is what has allowed kids to be able to push through early sobriety and give them a blueprint for the rest of their lives.”

“The KPC young adult group has 3 phases: IOP, Clinical Care and Transition.  Each step your child’s recommended goals will match where they are.  The first 1-6 weeks focus on abstinence, so on and so forth.  Developing skills on how to not use drugs and handle situation that could never be dealt with before without using.  The group has an open environment of young adults 18-26 openly relating, communicating and processing life together while staying sober.”

“I’ve been struggling with drugs for 8 years and KPC has been with e every step of the way.  They have helped me through some of the hardest, darkest times/situations.  They’ve never turned me away.  They always gave me hope that maybe this time will be different if I put in the work.  Now I’ve been sober for a year and 3 months. It’s a miracle that I believe wouldn’t be possible without KPC.”  - Corey

“I love coming to KPC because Elsa facilitates such a warm, safe and comfortable environment where I feel like I can be honest about how I’m feeling without fear of judgement.  I always get such beneficial feedback from both Elsa and the other group members, and I really think that coming to group is the best part of my week.”

“The family group is wonderful to help build bridges between family and me.”

“Parental education on addiction helps them see a difference perspective.”

“Elsa talked me through to see a brighter side of life.  Out of the 4 outpatients, 2 rehabs and 4 psychiatrists, I found a light at KPC.  The greatest shoulder to lean on when in crisis.  KPC saved my life.”  - Anthony

“Able to have an open environment judgment free.”
